Rosa F Martinez

On August 5, 2023, Rosa F. Martinez passed away peacefully at the age of 95. She leaves behind her children, Daniel Martinez Jr. (Elizabeth), Ruby M. Aguilar (Louie), Benjamin Martinez (Alicia), Elizabeth Martinez (Roger), Richard Martinez (Consuelo), and Robert Martinez, (Becky). 28 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nemecio and Bernardina Flores, her husband of 77 years, Daniel Martinez, and her sons, Alejandro Martinez and Alberto (Tico) Martinez. Rosa was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, tia, and friend. Anyone who came to know her fell in love with her vivacious spirit. Rosa always invited you into her home and made you feel welcomed and loved. When they were younger, Daniel and Rosa enjoyed dancing with friends and she spent her Saturdays shopping at Cielo Vista and having a pizza with Daniel afterwards. She loved nature and enjoyed roaming the aisles of the Eastside Nursery looking for flowers to plant in her "circle of love" garden. She loved birds and the sounds of their chirping and watching them visit in her backyard. Rosa loved babies. She cherished her moments with all of her grandchildren, and getting to hold her great-grandchildren, and kept them all close to her heart. She loved to laugh and tell stories, and surprised many of us with knowing the latest news, dances, or phrases. Rosa was so much fun to be around and she loved her family unconditionally. She will be greatly missed and there are no words to express how grateful and blessed we were to have her, but her family will always carry her memory in our hearts.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A rosary will occur Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 7:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 519 S Latta St, El Paso, Texas 79905. A graveside service will occur Friday, August 18, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, Fort Bliss, Texas 79906.
