April 13, 1936 - August 3, 2024
The sky opened and the angels escorted Rosalie Shane into heaven on August 3, 2024. She is singing in the grandest choir on the clouds of heaven.
Rosalie was born to Alfredo and Antonia Salazar of Chamita, New Mexico. She was one of eleven siblings. She was a devote catholic and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church where she was a member of the choir and the Rosary Altar Society. Rosalie volunteered many years at the Discovery Shop which served The Child Crisis Center of El Paso.
Being married to an Army Officer, she travelled to many distant places. At each location she opened her heart and found time to serve her community, either as a Red Cross volunteer, Girl Scout leader, softball coach and Co-Director of the Darmstadt American Youth Activities Drama Club. Growing up on a farm, Rosalie developed a passion for gardening and a love for sheep that she enjoyed until the final years of her life.
Rosalie is survived by Charlie, her husband of 68 years, children Nona (Joe), Rita, Lisa and Chuck (Debi) as well as eleven grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren. Special gratitude to German Mailland and Erica for the loving care they provided to our mother, Thank You for being a blessing in our mother’s life and in ours.
Services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10am, with Monsignor Arturo Banuelas officiating. Her rosary will be prayed before the mass starting at 9:30am.
“I’m tired, I’m worn. My heart is heavy, from the work it takes to keep on breathing. And I know that You can give me rest, so I cry out with all that I have left. Let me see redemption win.”
