Our beloved Rose peacefully went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous 12-year journey with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 57 years, Roberto Flores; her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Rocio Flores; and her daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Daniel Monteros.
She was a cherished grandmother to Jenna, Jackie, Cassandra, Amanda, and Isaiah, and a beloved great-grandmother to four great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons, all of whom brought her immense joy. Rose is also survived by her brothers, Arturo Gonzalez Jr. and his wife Beatriz, and James (Jimmy) Gonzalez and his wife Irma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arturo and Alicia Gonzalez, and her sister, Elizabeth Molignaro.
Rose retired from the City of El Paso after 34 years of dedicated service as secretary for multiple department heads, ultimately retiring from the El Paso Fire Department. She later continued her career with Eddie Miranda, Attorney at Law, and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, where she served another eight years as an Administrative Assistant before retiring.
A devoted Christian, Rose lived her life grounded in a strong and unwavering faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ. She found happiness in simple and meaningful joys—traveling to Ruidoso and Las Vegas, vacationing with her grandchildren, gardening, baking, and lovingly preparing meals for her family.
The family extends their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Patti, Rose’s devoted caregiver, whose love, patience, and compassionate care over the past decade were a true blessing. Patti’s kindness and dedication brought comfort, dignity, and companionship to Rose, and her care will forever be remembered with sincere appreciation and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held for her on Monday, February 16, from 10 am to 12 pm at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter, 79936.
