Rose Marie Salazar

Rose Marie Salazar, known to her loved ones as Rosie, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. A devoted Catholic, she was a graduate of Loretto Academy and went on to build a career as a bookkeeper, where her attention to detail and precision made her truly exceptional in her work.

Rosie lived her life with energy and intention. She loved staying active, whether it was going to the gym, taking cycling classes, or pushing herself through kickboxing. She found peace and joy in the simple beauty of nature, often spending time outdoors appreciating all it had to offer. Gardening was one of her passions, a reflection of her nurturing spirit and the care she gave to everything around her.

Above all, her greatest pride and joy were her two sons. They were the center of her world, and she never let a moment pass without reminding them how deeply she loved them. Her love was unconditional, unwavering, and constant. When told “I love you,” she would always respond, “I love you more,” a phrase that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.

Rosie was a devoted and loving wife to her late husband, Gilbert Salazar Sr., who passed away in 1994. Their marriage was a foundation of love and strength, and she remained widowed for the rest of her life, carrying a quiet strength and enduring devotion that shaped the family she cherished.

She was the very definition of a giving and selfless woman. Rosie opened her heart and her home to others, always making people feel welcome, cared for, and never alone. Her kindness, warmth, and hospitality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. To know her was to experience genuine love in its purest form.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Gilbert Salazar Jr. and Christopher Salazar; her siblings, Anna Blot and Richard Blot; her sister-in-law, Celeste Blot; her niece, Annamarie Ochoa Espejo, with whom she shared a special bond as fellow middle children; and many others whose lives were touched by her love and generosity. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to those who were present and supportive during her final moments.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Salazar Sr.; her parents, Joseph Ray Blot and Carmen Blot; her siblings, Joe Blot Jr. and Carmen Ruiz; and her twin sisters, Mary Ann and Mary Lou, who passed away in childhood.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn Funeral Home, 8817 Dyer, El Paso, TX 79904, US, on April 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Rosary Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N Mesa St., El Paso, TX 79902, on April 8, 2026 with time pending. Graveside Service will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 8700 Dyer St, El Paso, TX 79904, on April 8, 2026, at 12:30 pm.
