Rosemary Kourey

Rosemary Katherine Kourey, 63, beloved sister, aunt and friend passed away on July 15, 2011, after a courageous fight with cancer. She will always be remembered by her many friends and colleagues as a dedicated teacher, a devoted friend and an unfailingly kind Christian. She was a graduate of the University of Texas in El Paso with a Bachelor of Education and of Lesley University with a Masters of Education in Computers. She retired from the El Paso Independent School District after 33 years of service. Rosemary continued to teach, which was her great love, at El Paso Community College. She served both as an officer and as an active member of the Texas State Teachers’ Association for El Paso and Ysleta, the St. Alban’s Alter Guild, and the American Association of University Women.

Rosemary is survived by her mother, Agnes Kourey; her brother, Nassef Kourey and wife, Dorliss; her sister, Jane Nystrom and husband, Richard; nieces, Rachel Kourey Morton and husband, Michael; Gail Giltner, great-niece Amber Morsicato and great-nephew, Miles Morton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 21, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 1810 Elm Street, with Father Thomas officiating.
