Parents of Rosemary (Rosie) father, Louis Gamez, Jr, (deceased) and mother, Mary T. Gamez were the proud parents of Rosemary Gamez on June 4, 1954, who was born in Ft. Riley, Kansas. Her sister was born 11 months later also in Ft. Riley, Kansas (Rebecca Gamez Medina), David Gamez, brother (deceased) was born in Anchorage, Alaska. Military life is how we grew up, moving from country to country for many years. Rosie met David Torres (the love of her life and soul mate) in high school and they were always together. I remember how David would serenade my sister with his guitar and would always tell her how much he loved her. On July 8, 1972 David and Rosemary were married at Blessed Sacrament Church in El Paso, Texas. Rosemary began to work in Real Estate, David was also busy working hard making coffins. They made it work and then came along Rosie (Babo). Rosemary and David were very happy and extremely proud of Babo. Rosemary eventually began working at White Sands and David briefly was in the service (U.S. Army) and then he too went into the Civil Service in White Sands as a mechanic. The years flew by. Rosemary was a very giving and private person. She would make donations to ASPCA to help abused animals, donated to the church of Jewish denominations to help feed the poor, donated to St. Joseph’s Indian School in South Dakota, helping to donate dream catchers so children can go to school and have a better future, and also supporting the Wounded Warrior Project to help our Veterans. That is the type of person Rosemary is. It is important that everyone know what type of person she was. She was caring, had a big heart, wanted to help everyone, and was very loving to her family and many friends. She was a very private person. Rosemary was a beautiful and giving person. Suddenly on June 30, 2017, David died of a massive heart attack. Rosemary was devastated, all of us were, and still are. God needed an angel. Rosemary began having some medical issues and was offered by Crystal Minjarez (daughter of Rebecca G. Medina) to stay with her so she would not be alone in Radium Springs in New Mexico. She agreed and remained with Crystal in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Crystal took care of Rosemary as if she was her own mother with much love. It was clear that Rosemary never got over the death of David. They were soulmates that belonged together. Babo had moved to California, married Jeff Colburn and have a beautiful daughter, Zoey. Unfortunately, suddenly on April 10, 2021, Rosemary died of a massive heart attack in her sleep. God needed another angel. The angels have sent word that David and Rosemary are happy in heaven, have no pain, and will be watching over Babo, and all the rest of the family members and friends while praying for all of us. Some things are just meant to be.
