Ruby J. Blankenship

Ruby Jean Blankenship went to be with Jesus on January 5, 2022. Ruby was born in Bakersfield, California on December 8, 1941 and was raised in Electra, Texas. After many moves with the military, she chose to make El Paso, TX her home in 1978. She loved living here and was a faithful member of Bethel Family Ministries (formerly Bethel Temple). Ruby loved God and served Him with all her heart. Her ministry was sending cards to people on their special occasions and holidays. Ruby turned 80 years old on December 8, 2021. She was so loved by everyone who met her and will always be remembered by her kind, sweet heart. God created her to be a mother and we are so blessed that she was ours. Everything she touched was done with a Mother’s love. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and caregiver. She always made time for those who needed her. She made everyone she met feel important and special. Ruby was preceded in death by her father (O.W. McIntire), mother (Ruby Chloe Thompson), brother (John W. McIntire), and sister- in-law (Dorothy McIntire). She is survived by her 8 children: Russ Blankenship (Kelly), Randy Blankenship (Gena), Rick Blankenship (Vi), Michelle Miura, Dawn Allen (James), Amy Kersey (Jayson), Kari Hunt (Alan), Rebecca Herrera (Estevan); 14 Grandchildren: Hailey Sadlo (Matt), Amanda Allen, John Blankenship, Ryan Blankenship, Bethany Blankenship, Brandi Miller (Jack), Kayla Catacutan (Rexy), Korie Blankenship, Brandon Hunt, Katelynn Hunt, Zakary Kersey, Celeste Polanco, Celena Polanco, Jakson Kersey; 9 Great-Grandchildren: Anthony, Alanna, Bryan, Kara, Wynter, Emma, Kyson, Yvaine, and Wesley. In lieu of flowers the family would like any donations to be sent to Bethel Family Ministries at 6301 Alabama El Paso, TX 79904. As much as our hearts are broken, our hope and comfort lies in the knowledge that she is whole and we will see her again one day.
