Rudy Melendez

Rudy Melendez, age 68 of El Paso, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Born in El Paso, Texas, he was the son of Isella Melendez and Alonzo Melendez. Rudy was a graduate of Eastwood High School. After high school, Rudy served honorably in the United States Army and was a proud veteran who continued his service by honoring his fellow veterans and employees as the Supervisor of the Facility Support Services Maintenance and Operations team at the El Paso Department of Veterans Affairs where he dedicated a cumulative 23 years to Federal Service.

Rudy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and pet parent/grandparent and is survived by his Wife of 42 years, Sylvia Ann Melendez, Daughters Rochelle LeAnne Melendez and Jessica Renee Melendez, Grandson Nathan Ranaye Melendez and Fur babies, Roxi, Marlee, Zoey, Luna, Buddy, Bailey, Nova, Nahla, Jayde, Riley, Belle, Dexter and Callie, He was also a beloved brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. Rudy's memory and legacy will forever be embedded in our hearts as he will never be forgotten.

A visitation for Rudy will be be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 6:00PM to 10:00PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 7:30PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A graveside service will occur Friday, August 22, 2025 beginning at 11:30AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906. Convoy will be meeting at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915, at 10:00AM with departure at 11:00AM.
