Survived by his beloved wife Cecilia, his children Samuel De La Cruz III (Deceased), Elizabeth De La Cruz (Deceased), Robert De La Cruz, Yvette De La Cruz, his brother Jimmy De La Cruz (Deceased), his sister Velia Ortiz, brother in law Tony Ortiz, his nephew Danny Ortiz and Tony Ortiz Jr., his grandchildren Elizabeth Colclasure, Jacob Colclasure, Robert De La Cruz Jr. and his faithful companion Biggie Bear.
Sam was a proud father and grandfather, he loved his children, grandchildren and wife devotedly. At 17 he graduated high school and enlisted in the U.S Army and joined the 82nd Airborne. He returned home and married his longtime sweetheart Ceci and had 4 beautiful children. He worked in the Garment Manufacturing business until retirement in 1998. He went on to live a well traveled and fulfilled life surrounded by love and family until our Lord called him home on March 21st, 2022.
A visitation for Samuel will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79936. A vigil will occur Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 6:00 PM, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79936. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 10970 Bywood Dr, El Paso, Texas 79936. A rite of committal will occur Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906.
