
Samuel Kimmelman, a beloved family man and respected community leader, died peacefully on September 3rd at the age of 91. He lived his life finding the best in everyone he met and performing acts of kindness. He lived up to his greatest title, “Dad”. He was preceded in death by his treasured wife of 54 years Pola Kimmelman, and his brother Abraham Kimmelman. He is survived by his children James Kimmelman and spouse Monica, Gil Kimmelman, David Kimmelman and his spouse Kristin, Enoch Kimmelman and spouse Yocheved, daughter Deborah Karchmer and spouse Jeff. Mr. Kimmelman is also survived by 16 loving grandchildren; Esther, Rachel, Channah, Asher, Jaiden, Daniel, Sarah, Rivka, Libby, Chaya, Natanya, Chaim Meir, Avigail and Yaakov Kimmelman, Alyssa and Aaron Karchmer. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 5th at 10:00 a.m. at B'nai Zion Cemetery, 3915 Gateway West, with Rabbi Stephen Leon officiating. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr. El Paso, TX 79912. Born on May 9, 1923 to Chaim and Esther Kimmelman, Mr. Kimmelman was a life-long entrepreneur, and is perhaps best known as the founder of Starr Western Wear retail stores, where he will always be affectionately remembered as “Big Sam”.
