Samuel G. Salazar

On Tuesday, June 9, 2015 the Lord called home our beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend Samuel G. Salazar (The Bull). Samuel was preceded in death by his grandparents Ramon and Cecilia Salazar, Godfather and uncle, Ruben Cruz. He was very outgoing and loved sports. He was always ready to help everyone around. He was a great son. He graduated from Hanks High School, in 2000 where he was Trainer of the Year. He was a State Champion in Rockets while at Hanks. After graduating he volunteered at Hanks for football and baseball as a trainer. He danced for Ballet Folklorico Churuhui for 10 years and currently served as Technical Director for Rodolfo Hernandez Productions. He was a Sun Bowl volunteer and was given several awards for his hard work. He graduated from UTEP with a degree in Computer Science. He worked for ADP. Samuel is survived by his parents Edward and Maria Ofelia Salazar; grandparents Samuel and Manuela Cruz, aunt and Godmother, Gabriela Cruz, aunt Eileen and uncle Robert Escamilla, cousins Bill Paul Cruz, Melodie Escamilla and Robert Escamilla Jr., uncles and aunts: Ramon Salazar, Louie Salazar, Maria Sanchez, Cecilia Salazar and Antonio Salazar and countless other aunts, uncles and cousins. Rest in Peace. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 14th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Drive, with Vigil beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 15th at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church, 8100 San Jose Road. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
