Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn Funeral Home, 8817 Dyer, El Paso, TX 79904, on July 14, 2026, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm.
Scott was born in Wuerzburg Germany to Rosa and Allan Smilowitz. He graduated from Andress High School in El Paso, TX. He was a veteran of Operation Police Safe Haven 1994-1995, serving in the United States Air Force. He attended University of Texas at El Paso pursuing a degree in Psychology.
Scott played the guitar and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, LA Lakers, LA Dodgers and the US World Cup team. He admired the writings of Neil Pert and loved to listen to RUSH, one of his favorite bands.
Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents Les & Josephine Foster, Manuel & Elisa Chavez.
Scott is survived by his parents, Rosa and Allan Smilowitz: daughter Rosa Santaella, granddaughters Amelia and Summer, sisters Cynthia Kellermann and Erica Sweeney (Daniel). His nephew and niece, Daniel and Philippa. And his beloved sheepdog and husky.
Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Sweeney, Peter Benecke, Mathias Benecke, Abinoem Benecke, and Jesus Chavez.
Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906, on July 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
