

Shirley Ruth Goldfarb, born on June 17, 1930 in Beaumont, Texas, to Lillian and Sam Balk, passed away on May 28, 2013 at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the center of a large and loving family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to many. She had an unwavering devotion to her family and her husband, Bobby, her love for 64 years.
She will be remembered for a big, beaming smile and a quick wit, but most of all for her incomparable cooking. Shirley fed friends and family with love, above all else. There was always room at her table, and her legacy is the generous, joyful spirit she shared with every helping. She was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
During the last months of her life, Shirley was cared for by a group of exceptional caretakers and loyal friends the Goldfarb family will be forever grateful for their thoughtfulness.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Terry Walker. She is survived by her husband Bobby, her children, Rick and Ann Goldfarb, Donna Goldfarb, Janice and Damon Crossland, as well as 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Temple Mount Sinai Cemetery.
