God Bless!  Sig touched many lives in Scouting and Special Forces.  It was an honor to know him.  I was proud to be a part of Sig finally receiving the Silver Beaver Award at the Yucca Council Dinner in 2009 (photo attached).  As an Eagle in 1940 he served Scouting for most of his life including while in the Army.  His time in Special Forces was also great . . . he was a pioneer when they began in the 1950's. Mr.Bue was a client of ours at Crossroads Animal Hospital, he and his wife were so sweet and they hold a special spot in my heart. I was so sad to hear of his passing this Saturday. He was like a grandfather to me and Mrs. Bue a grandmother. I will miss him terribly.

Sig was our "cousin" and we will miss him.  He checked on our Dad regularly when he was in El Paso.  I will miss the November birthday calls.  Kinu, thank you for your care, love and support.

Sig sat in front of me for years at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran church.   He was there every Sunday.  Then Kinu was added.  It was a pleasure to see the fondness and kindness they had for each other.

Our whole family has the great honor of knowing a sincere and good friend for over 60 years. Our sympathy from the Johnson family: Dana,Jeanne,Elliot, and Sherry.

My condolences to the family of Sigurd Bue. Sig was a great man who kept the spotlight off himself. Whenever I asked about his background in the war as a veteran he would always change the subject back to Scouting. Sig had a great life as a volunteer and as a youth, achieving the Eagle Scout recognition (highest honor to achieve as a Scout). Sigurd also achieved the Silver Beaver Award (highest honor given in the local Boy Scout Yucca Council.

I would like to share, for the record, the "Most Memorable Moment" that Sig spoke of as part of the Silver Beaver Program on February 21, 2009 (listed in the program):

"As I think back some 76 years in Scouting my 'most memorable moments' are truly endless. However, without a doubt one of the most memorable moments would have to be the time I was presented my Eagle badge.

The event, in itself, is certainly 'memorable', but in my case it was even more so because of the circumstances surrounding my mother's arrival. At the time, November 1939, my family and I lived in Northfield, Minnesota. My widowed mother worked for the US Government to advise primarily farm women on how to stretch the dollar. This was during the height of the Great Depression. This role sometimes required her to travel considerable distances. Such was the case on my 'big night' as she was some 275 miles from home, and it was snowing hard all day. 

This dear lady was well aware of the key role a mother plays in a Court of Honor, so there was no doubt in my mind that she would be there. 

As time approached for the start of the program my mother had not yet arrived. The District Executive who was chairing the festivities, was well aware of my mother's situation, and as such had briefed the crowd in the auditorium that there might have to be a slight delay in the start of the program. 

At the last minute, my mother still had not arrived, so the District Executive had my sister come up on the stage to be prepared to substitute for my mother. The District Executive had just gotten the opening words out of his mouth when the large double doors at the end of the auditorium opened up and there stood my mother, covered in snow. Both my sister and I leaped off the stage and ran up the aisle to greet our mother. At that moment, the crowd jumped to their feet and began cheering. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room."

Sig Bue's Scouting experience goes way back as a youth earning his Eagle Scout and as a volunteer in the 1940s in South Central Minnesota. He earned a Distinguished Commissioner title in 1975. Sig is a retired Colonel in the military, US Army Special Forces. While in the military Sig was passionate for Scouting and held several leadership positions including District Commissioner. He has actively served as a charter member of the Baden Powell Society. He was the first president of the Yucca Council's original NESA (National Eagle Scout Association) Chapter from 1974 to 1978. As President he sponsored many Eagle Scouts and held a Wilderness Survival Weekend with over 400 attending - Wow! It is our privilege to recognize Sig Bue with the highest award a Council can bestow - the Silver Beaver Award.

It was an honor to know Sigurd Bue and to be part of his life here in El Paso.
