Stephen P. Rankin

Stephen Patch Rankin, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord, January 18, 2022 at the age of 75. He was born on February 23, 1946 in Oakland, CA and went to high school in Colorado where he worked for the D&RG RR, later making it a career at Southern Pacific RR in El Paso. Steve graduated from UTEP and was an avid golfer with a passion for sports, computers, music and Bible study. He faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon and choir member. Steve is survived by his wife of 43 years Nydia Serna Rankin, son Daniel Eugene Rankin (Karin), grandson Gideon Stephen Rankin (his pride and joy), sister Kathryn Doidge, brothers Kenneth Rankin, Paul Rankin (Donna), and numerous nieces/nephews. He is predeceased by parents Lillian Moore and Donald W. Rankin, brother William Rankin and sister Laurette Lee. The Celebration of Life Service will be on February 4, at 11:00am, First Baptist Church, 805 Montana, El Paso,TX 79902. Donations may be made to the Missions Ministry at fbcep.com.
