Steven, A year ago today, at 7:15 p.m., I took this picture of this flower that bloomed in Gramma Chole’s garden. Little did we know that this would be the day that you would leave us too. This flower appearing was a symbol of Gramma, your mom, and Grandma and Grandpa Moralez waiting for you in heaven. Thank you for being a great Uncle to Aaron. He loved you so much and will miss you greatly. You never treated him like he was anything else other than your blood and you always went out of your way to show him you loved and cared about him. From the time he was little to now as he is becoming a teenager, he always felt the love and warmth from his Uncle Steven.  This loving nature is not a side of you many got to see, but know the memory of what a sweet, loving, and caring person you could be lives on through your nephew.  He knew you were trying and he knew how much you wanted to do better.

Dear Steven.  
I had always hoped that one day you would heal from all the things that life threw your way.  That you would catch your breath when you felt like you were drowning.  Now, I am praying that you are finally at peace.  No more pain.  No more hurt. No more loss.  Now you are with the ones who love you the most.   
 I never told you how courageous I thought you were.   How I thought you were the best example of compassion and humanity.  As a child  you cared for your mom till her dying day.   It is something every parent prays their child should never have to do.   It is something that could break a child.   Then, you had to do it all over again with your grandparents.  They were blessed to have you by their side.  YOU were a blessing.  
Today, while others talked about loosing their handyman and their mechanic, I failed to stand up and remind everyone that who we lost was so much more.   THIS family lost someone who would have held our hands on our darkest day.  We lost someone who would have shined his bright creative light upon us.   We lost everything you were truly meant to be and all the things you were truly meant to do.  
I love you and will miss you.

Our hearts are broken.  Just when it seemed you were back home again, you left us!  You spent most of your life helping others showing compassion to those in need.  Always wanting to learn new things and living life to the fullest.  You will be missed!

I am so heartbroken by the loss of my brother Steven. Through the pain, I am so grateful for the time that I got to spend with him and the memories we made the last few months.  He was a great brother and friend. he would always be there for you and he had advice to give for any situation. He would always find time to see you or talk to you even if he already had a busy day planned out. I knew that I could talk to him about anything and he would listen and understand. I wish I would've hugged him a little longer the last time I saw him, and stressed how much I deeply love and care for him.

Even as he was in the process of starting his life over from scratch, he was always willing to help and give to the people around him. He was SO hard working and motivated. All Steven wanted to do was grow and be better every single day, he never let anything or anyone get him down for long. He wanted to mend any broken relationships he had with his family, some he did but some he didn't have the time to. Although it was always there, he was so elated to finally be able to feel the love and support from his family. He was happy and loving life as that's all he ever wanted. He left us all too soon, but I know he is happy to be with the people he loved so deeply, my mom and grandma. I know I, and many others, will miss the warmth, love, and of course laughter he brought to any space. 

He lived his life out loud, he was so was vibrant, thoughtful, generous, witty, resilient, and many other things. He loved to draw, journal, craft things, sing, dance, and watch funny videos. I'll miss him everyday until we meet again.

Every time I saw you, you had a hug to give and you were so shocked to see how much I had grown. I haven’t seen you in so long and it’s hard to believe that you’re gone. I’ll be looking forward to that hug the next time we meet.

This is the last photo I have of you. Looking sharp as always, and being a kind soul when we need you the most.  I will miss you primo and be forever grateful for the times we did spend together, the time you came to help us and just talking to you and hearing you laugh. I was thinking of you on Saturday and thinking of Patrick and wondering how big he was and remembering the tattoo of the letter he wrote you that you have on your arm, then later that day hearing the news that you were gone… your spirit must have been with me to bring me that special memory and make me think of you. I know you are with your mom  and will look down on us and send your heavenly hugs from now on. Rest Primo… until we see each other again.

My sweet Steven. You were always the very MOST. You loved the most, talked the most, had the most talent,  loved your son the most, but you also had the most pain. More pain than anyone I have ever met. I am so sad and so heartbroken that you aren’t here. I know that at least you aren’t in pain anymore. That you are finally back in the arms of the ones you loved the MOST.  You would always tell me that you knew you weren’t going to be here long. You would also tell me that the people who treated you like sh** would be hypocrites and cry and show up all sad to your funeral.  You were right about the first, and will probably be right about the second. I love you sweet Steven.  I hope you finally get to see what we saw in you.

I couldn’t believe the news when I found out.  Memories of you running around as a little kid flooded my mind. I used to sit at your house with your mom and dad and laugh at all the crazy things you and your siblings would do.  I wish we could go back to those times. Life was easier. I’m glad that our paths would cross often and I could see you laughing while we talked about how life was going.  I will miss seeing you smile.  Rest easy my little primo. I know your mom is there to welcome you home.

I didn’t know Steven but the way his Godfather Art would talked about him , he seemed to be a great living person.  He had so many plans that him and Art where gonna do together. My sincere condolences to you and your family…. God needed another Angel and he decided that Steven was the one to be a Angel!!!! Rest In Peace Steven !!!!

My heart is broken! Who would have know that two weeks ago would be the last time that I would see you. That day, just being able to hug you and tell you that I loved you, brought me so much joy and happiness. You looked great! You were your usual self.....telling us about what you were up to and finding comfort in what you were doing. If only we had more time, but  time was not meant to be. God had other plans for you, and although sometimes we do not agree, we will move forward and cherish the time that we did have with you. I know one day we will see each other again, but until then, know that I will have you in my heart forever. I love you, Steven!
