Telia Elizabeth Baughn

On August 12, 1930 Telia Elizabeth was born to Luke and Nora Bailey in Blossom, Texas. Having five big brothers was both a challenge and a blessing for Telia. A few months after graduating from Blossom High School, Telia married Doyle Baughn. Shortly thereafter they moved to Commerce where Doyle was attending East Texas State Teachers College. Two years later just before Doyle’s graduation, their daughter, Beverly Beth, was born.

Telia especially loved Gospel music, cooking, needlepoint and travel with Doyle. Whether it was PTA projects, planning activities for the Golden Agers at their church, making their famous pies in the Pie Palace at the NM District Nazarene campgrounds, Doyle and Telia worked together. Telia spent many years as a medical secretary/insurance biller for Dr. J.A. Rodriguez and Dr. K. Zolfoghary.

Telia is preceded in death by Doyle, her husband of 64 years, her parents, her brothers, Freeman, Raybon, Leo, Bernice and Alton, and their wives. She is survived by daughter, Beth, precious nieces and nephews and their families, her dog, Tilly, and Beth’s dog, Walter. Special thanks go to the staff and residents of Golden Park where Telia spent the last few months of her life.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Funeral Service to follow on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Tim Brunk officiating at Martin Funeral Home West Chapel, 128 North Resler Dr., El Paso, Texas 79912. Burial will follow after the funeral service at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, 4900 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88008.
