

Teresa C. Lopez Payan, 88, a longtime resident of San Elizario Texas passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021. She was born in San Elizario, Texas on August 12, 1932 to Santiago Lopez and Eutimia Cuestas and lived her entire life in San Elizario.
She retired in 1996 from the Socorro Independent School District after twenty five years of service as a school cafeteria manager. She was a proud devoted member of the San Elizario Genealogy and Historical Society, the San Elizario Catholic Church, and other community organizations. She enjoyed music, singing, dancing, joking, laughing, and reminiscing of the “good old days”.
She is preceded in death; by her husband of 55 years, Erasmo T. Payan, her parents Santiago and Eutimia Lopez, brothers Santiago Lopez Jr. and Roberto Lopez, sisters Arcilia Alarcon, Eva Rojas, Becky Whitley, and Genoveva Lopez, great grandchildren Ethan M. and Jeremy J. Payan.
She is survived; by her sons; Alex (Diana), Victor, and Albert Payan, sisters Guadalupe and Linda Lopez, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many cousins, nephews and nieces that she adored.
As per our mother’s request she wants to be remembered as she was in her living years and for this reason there will not be any funeral services.
