Thelma was born and raised in El Paso, Texas; she went to Loretto Academy and graduated from Bel Air High School. She studied at UTEP and moved to Minnesota in 1994. Thelma worked as a registered nurse most of her life.
She is survived by her daughter Leena Al-Saleh; grandson Leonardo Kia, brother; Jose Manuel Diaz, nephews Andrew Diaz, Joseph Diaz, aunt Ernestina Cedillio, cousins from Arizona and a host of friends in Minnesota.
Vigil will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:30am at St. Raphael Catholic Church with a Mass at 1pm. Inurnment will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11am at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
