On February 15, 2021 Theodore M. McKinley passed away after a long battle with cancer. Born and raised in Oil City, Pennsylvania, Ted moved west to El Paso, Texas as a young man, where he remained for more than 60 years. Ted was a long time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 960, and retired from the El Paso Electric Company. In his retirement, he became an expert woodworker, designing and building beautiful furniture for his daughters, grandchildren, and beloved family friends. In recent years, he was a regular volunteer with the Friends of the Library, for whom he built a complete set of handcrafted shelves. Ted is survived by his wife Gail McKinley, daughters Cheryl Leung (Vitus Leung), and Mary Haynie (Ed Haynie), grandchildren Sarah McKinley-Barnard (Ben Barnard), Katherine Leung (James Krasner), Anne Leung, and Jarred Haynie (Maribel Haynie), and great-grandchildren Oliver and Rebecca Barnard, and Eva Haynie.
Due to Pandemic, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
