

Tony Carmona was surrounded by his family when he was called by our heavenly Father on February 19, 2020 at the age of 83. He was born in Denver, CO to Eva and Antonio Carmona. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Dolores Carmona, his children; Linda, Patricia, Michael and John; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Sisters; Josie and Hope, and brothers, Juan, Sergio, Armando, Mario. Many nieces and nephews and preceded in death, his brother Jaime.
He was a true-blue Bowie Bear where he participated in track, football and was the Captain of ROTC. He played the trombone and played in the All City Band. He was also voted Senior Favorite by his peers.
In 1958 Tony began working at Hanley Paint Co, later Kwal-Howell where he began his paint industry career. He was loyal to the company for 47 years and was promoted to VP of Sales. Stories at the company told he loved the people he worked with and it showed by his kind smile, contagious laugh and positive attitude.
Tony’s legacy will continue for generations to come. He was involved in helping the community by fundraising and promoting memberships for El Paso Boys Club of America, El Paso YMCA where he was a member of the Run for Your Life Program, and played racquetball and basketball. He volunteered at the UTEP Athletic Foundation, El Paso Optimist Club, Vista Del Sol Optimist Club. He was also a Board Member of the El Paso Home Builders Association and the Apartment Association. He held an Officer position with the Painter’s and Decorators of America. He also belonged to the All Sports Club, since 1960, where he served as President, as well as Secretary/Treasurer. Tony also loved to play golf with business associates as well as good friends.
Taking vacations was always a favorite. The super-fun memories will stay with us forever.
Tony will forever be remembered honoring his family, serving his community and being compassionate to all those who knew him.
A Holy Rosary will take place on Friday, March 13 at 6:00PM at Martin Funeral Home, 1460 George Dieter, El Paso, Texas 79936. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 10AM at St. Rafael Parish, 2301 Zanzibar Rd, El Paso, Texas 79925 followed by interment at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79938.
