Our loving mother, Toshie Jeanne Griffith, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, to be reunited with our father and her devoted husband. Born in Japan on February 19, 1935, Toshie’s life was a beautiful testament to love, strength, and quiet resilience. From her early years in Japan to the life she built in the United States, she carried with her a deep sense of gratitude, humility, and grace.
Toshie was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit in their hearts. As the rock of our family, she was the one we all turned to, whether we needed comfort, encouragement, or simply a listening ear. Her home was a place of warmth and safety, where laughter, stories, and love were always present.
She taught us, not just with words, but with the quiet example of how she lived her life: working hard, caring deeply, and always putting family first. Her gentle hands dried our tears, celebrated our successes, and steadied us when life felt uncertain. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was a source of endless affection, pride, and support, attending milestones when she could and always asking about their lives with genuine interest and joy.
Deeply devoted to her Buddhist faith, Toshie lived with compassion, mindfulness, and a peaceful heart. Her faith guided her through life’s challenges and shaped the way she treated others: with kindness, patience, and understanding. She believed in doing good quietly, in forgiving freely, and in meeting each day with acceptance and hope. Those who knew her felt the calm presence she brought into every room.
Toshie’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and unity. She leaves behind a family that is stronger and closer because of the values she instilled: to care for one another, to stay connected, and to cherish each moment together. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, the stories, lessons, and memories she leaves us will continue to guide and comfort us for the rest of our lives.
Visitation for Toshie Griffith will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at HillCrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her life, share memories, and celebrate the legacy of a truly remarkable woman.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes your prayers, kind thoughts, and treasured memories of Toshie as a way to honor her life and the love she so freely gave.
