

On the morning of Thursday, December 9, 2021, our beloved son Troy Roger Conen succumbed to brain cancer and left his family to be in the arms of His Lord Jesus Christ. Troy was a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and a true and loyal friend to many people.
Troy was born in Heidelberg, West Germany, on July 17, 1962, to Roger and Mary Conen. Roger Conen retired as a Sargent Major from the Unites States Army devoting his entire life to serving his country. During the three years they were stationed in Germany, his sister Tracy was born.
The next three years were spent in Golden, Colorado. In 1967, Roger served in Vietnam while the rest of the family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and Troy started kindergarten at Lawrence Township Grade School. Troy then started second grade at Highland Park Grade School when his father was stationed to Fort Sheridan, Illinois. The family then moved to Okinawa, Japan, with Troy attending the American school and playing football.
He loved football and became an ardent fan of Louisiana State University (LSU) and the Green Bay Packers. In 1976, the family relocated to Fort Bliss and bought a home
in El Paso and Troy attended Ross Middle School and then graduated from Eastwood High School. Troy bought a beagle, one of the descendents of President Lyndon Johnson's White House pets. After High School, Troy then graduated from Universal Technical Institute for Motorcycle Mechanics in Phoenix, Arizona, subsequently honing his skills at a motorcycle dealership outside Lafayette, Louisiana, about 57 miles from Baton Rouge where he attended football games at LSU.
Troy met the love of his life Esther Alvarez and they have a son, Roger Conen, born September 5, 1990, here in El Paso. He loved his family and enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles, hunting and fishing with his son, Roger, his brother-in-law Jim, and his nephew Jake. Survivors include his beloved mother, Mary, his father, Roger, his wife, Esther, his son, Roger, his grandson, Bronson, his sister Tracy (Jim Bean), his nephew, Jake Bean, and his many many friends in El Paso, the state of Texas, and all over the United States.
Services are entrusted to Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, viewing begins at 9:00 A.M., service begins at 9:30 A.M. Interment to follow immediately after at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza with a motorcycle procession organized by Rio Grande Shovelheads. Pallbearers are Troy's son Roger, Jim Bean, Jake Bean, Joe Castillo, Paul Lujan and Indio. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Perez and Mouse. The family respectfully requests that friends
and family ride their motorcycles to show honor and respect to Troy.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or the Cancer Treatment Centers of America would be greatly appreciated.
