Vera Sotelo was born on 25 April 1922 and died on October 25, 2018 in El Paso, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin; brothers Joe, Fido and Hector; and sisters-in-law Rita and Teresa. She is survived by a daughter Carol Ann van Dyke and Son Fr. Richard Sotelo, S. J., grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their progeny.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on November 9, 2018 at 7:00 pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Jesuit Refugee Service or a favorite charity. Interment will be in California at a later date.
