

Victor Lorenzo Salazar, 81, of El Paso, TX, passed away on January 30, 2025, in the comfort of his home. He was born on July 5, 1943, one of 8 children, in El Paso, TX, to Victor and Francisca (Padilla) Salazar. In 1962, he graduated from El Paso High School, where he met the love of his life, Irma Monarez. In 1965, he was drafted into the Army, receiving a Sharpshooter (Rifle) National Defense Service Medal, and honorably discharged in 1967. Victor and Irma were married in 1968 at Holy Family Catholic Church and spent 56 loving years together until his passing.
Victor was known for his unlimited kindness, humorous personality, and dedication to his loved ones. He retired from the El Paso Fire Department as a Lieutenant at Station No.9 after 26 years and proudly served his community.
Beyond his career as a Firefighter, Victor cherished time with family and friends. He touched the lives of many with his generosity and compassion. Victor was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, brother, tio/uncle, nino/godfather, and friend to many. All loved him.
Victor is survived by his beautiful wife, Irma Monarez; his son, Pablo Salazar, and his wife, Gloria; his second son, Daniel Salazar, and his wife, Cynthia; and his daughter, Yvonne, and her husband, Fred Carreon; grandchildren, Daniel Patrick, Vincent, Isabella, and Pablo David; grand-dogs, Leia, Lando, and Chewbacca. He is also survived by his siblings, Irma Wright, Aida Quade, Yolanda Salazar, and George Salazar. His parents, Victor and Francisca (Padilla) Salazar, preceded him in death, as did sisters Alice Rhodes, Maria M. Tummillo, and Norma Salazar.
Victor L. Salazar will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who loved and knew him.
Visitation for Victor will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home East, located at 1460 George Dieter Drive, El Paso, TX 79936.
The funeral mass will occur on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 10970 Bywood Dr, El Paso, TX 79936. The burial will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
