

She was the wife of William Bee Fields for 57 years. She graduated from Austin High and the University of Texas at El Paso with a B.S. in Education (highest honors), and received a secondary teaching certification in English and Anthropology. She was an engineering and executive legal secretary at Maxwell House Coffee in Houston and Standard Oil of Texas in El Paso. Virginia was an award-winning artist and taught art at various locations and at her own studio. She co-authored two books: “Beginning the Search for God” and “A Child’s Search for God.” She was also a licensed massage therapist
Virginia and William Fields are survived by daughters Brenda Fields Cram and husband Frank of Arlington, Texas; and Holly Fields Krafsur and husband Andy of El Paso; and William’s sister, Carol Sue Fields Hogg and husband Gayle. They are survived by seven grandchildren, Travis Cram of Lubbock, Texas; Trey Cram and Mary Cram of Arlington, Texas; and Alyssa Krafsur, Alana Krafsur and Neil Krafsur of El Paso, Texas; and two great-grandchildren Brett E. Cram and Kynlee Cram of Lubbock, Texas. They are preceded in death by grandson Brett William Cram of Arlington, Texas. Funeral Services will be at Hillcrest Funeral Home West, 5054 Doniphan Dr., El Paso, TX 79932 on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
