

Dearest Family & Friends, on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 our beloved Virginia Simental Whitcomb passed peacefully into the arms of Christ Jesus and into eternal love & light after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Virginia was born in El Paso, TX on Dec. 17, 1948 to Benjamin Simental Sr. & the late Guadalupe Gavaldon Simental and was a 1967 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. “Binnie” as she was lovingly referred to, lived her life to the fullest and placed the utmost importance on Faith & Family. In her life she answered to many roles such as: daughter, sister, aunt,cousin, grandmother, mother in-law, & friend; but by far the most important were always: Wife and Mother. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her soul mate&husband of 46 years, Richard R. Whitcomb and her loving children: Rick A. Whitcomb, Benjamin E. Whitcomb (Rosie), Nyree Lucero (Andres), April Worker (Andy), and Josh A. Whitcomb (Crystal.)She is also survived by her father, Benjamin Simental Sr.; her siblings: Yvonne Wills (Kevin), Teri Simental, Benjamin Simental Jr. (Sandy), Enrique Simental (Sonia), Alice Thompson (Frank), Barbara Crowe, Danny Simental (Terry), Michael Simental, Eliza Simental, Antonio Simental & Alexandro Simental; as well as 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild arriving in June, along with countless relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Service/viewing to be held: Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 from 5-9pm with Rosary at 7pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Funeral Mass to be held: Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at 1pm at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church; Burial to follow at 2:30pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
