

Wendell was born on January 27, 1940 to Porter and Lena Ridlehuber of Waco, TX. He graduated from Waco High School, and attended Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Anthomology. He moved to El Paso in 1964 and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as an inspector for 43 years. Since he received his Eagle Scout distinction as a teenager, he joined the Boy Scouts of America Troop 86 and volunteered with them for over 25 years. Always an avid Red Raider and UTEP fan, Wendell was well known for his impressive recollection of sporting events, trivia, and sense of humor. Wendell is survived by his wife of 38 years Ruth, his children Janel Gonzalez, Steven, and Thomas Ridlehuber, his sister Arlan Riddle of Waco, TX. his nephew Kyle Rose and wife Amy and their 3 children Emily, Andy and Charlie Rose, and his extended family. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2015 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Crestview Funeral Home with prayer service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 9:30 am. Wendell will be cremated and his ashes will be buried with his parents in Waco, TX. Services entrusted to Crestview Funeral Home, (915) 856-1400.
