William E. Danner, Sr. CWO2 (Ret.), 95, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018. He was born May 26, 1923 in Elwood, Indiana and a graduate of Franklin College. He served in the U.S. Army for over 25 years, including service in the 104th Infantry Division in WWII. Later, he taught in the El Paso Independent School System and was active in local Optimist clubs. He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 65 years, Sophie Danner, and their two children, Judith E. Adams and William E. Danner, Jr. He is survived by his brother Ed Danner of St. Helens, OR and nephews Larry McMillin of New Richmond, OH and James Kelley of Morgantown, IN. Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2018 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, with a graveside service and interment to follow at 2pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Optimist International Foundation are suggested.
