It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Elda was born in Mathis, TX on February 12, 1949. She lived a life centered around compassion, family, and caring for others. For over 30 years, she worked as a devoted CNA, touching countless lives with her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit. She was known for always putting others before herself and for having a heart big enough to make everyone she met feel loved and welcomed.
She was married for 57 wonderful years to the love of her life, Hilario Rodriguez, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Paiz and Anita Cruz Paiz, her sister Aminta Sanchez, her brothers Raymond Paiz and George Paiz.
She leaves behind her loving daughter Norma Jean Rosenbaum, her loving Grandson David Michael Rosenbaum (Tiffany), her son Larry Rodrguez, her grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Larry D., and her 5 great grandchildren.
She found joy in the simple things in life: sewing, crafts, quilting, oldies music, Elvis, Betty Boop, and the Andy Griffith show.
Her warmth, laughter, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. To know her was to love her.
