Larry Don Collins was born on June 2, 1954 in Florence, Texas to Julius and Zula Mae Collins. He attended school in Austin I.S.D. He professed his faith in Christ later in life, where he attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, until moving his membership to Pleasant Bethany Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and was employed by the State of Texas, Texas Instruments and Motorola, where he later retired.
Larry Don Collins united in holy matrimony to Joyce Ann Williams on December 8, 1973 and to this union was born one son and one daughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Collins, son, Michael Dawon Collins, parents, Julius and Zula Mae Collins, two sisters, Maebell Collins and Elizabeth Collins, two brothers, Aubrey Lee Collins and Herbert Collins.
He is survived by his daughter Twanna Shontae’ Collins, grandson Larry Dawondre’ Sutton, great grandchildren, Layanna Sutton, Landyn Sutton and Londyn Sutton, three sisters, Lula Massy, Ruth Kincheon, Larisa Collins-Townsend, two brothers, Thomas Collins (Deloris) and James Collins (Ruby), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North, Elgin, TX 78621, US, on October 2, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Pleasant Bethany Church, 217 Church St, Elgin, TX 78621, US, on October 3, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
A Committal Service will follow at Westbrook Memorial Gardens, 780 FM3000, Elgin, TX 78621, US, on October 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
