She was born on November 19, 1943, in Elgin to Alberto and Pilar Arzola. Lydia worked as a paralegal at Legal Aid in Austin Texas, the Elgin Housing Authority, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin Texas, and Elgin I.S.D. Transportation from where she retired. She had a servant heart and made sure whatever job she worked at reflected that.
Lily was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to everyone around her.
If you knew Lily, you knew her love for the Elgin Wildcats, eating out at her favorite local restaurants, or drinking an ice-cold Pepsi.
More than anything, Lily loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life and her greatest source of pride. She cherished every moment spent with them, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her children Gina Fuentes, Joaquin Hernandez IV, and Bobbie Wissen (Chris).
She was the caring grandmother of Ashley Grier (Trevor), Eric Tello (Cassandra), Katie Tipps (Jason), Robert Wissen, and Zachary Hernandez-Ott (Kristina); and great- grandchildren, Avery Grier, Hunter Grier, Jacob Tello, Haleigh Tello, Maddox Tipps, Kaleb Cadena, Kamila Hernandez-Ott, Joaquin Hernandez-Ott VI, and Ailani Hernandez-Ott.
Lydia is preceded in death by both her parents, Alberto and Pilar Arzola, her brothers Lalo Arzola and Shane Arzola, and great-grandson Wyatt Grier.
She is also survived by her sister Estella Gomez (Dan), brothers Enrique Arzola, and Raul Arzola (Eileen) and sister-in-law Mary Arzola.
