Marilyn Diane Crowe

Marilyn Diane Norris Crowe, 87, of Manor, Texas, passed away and went home to be with her savior The Lord Jesus Christ, on May 21st, 2026. Diane was born on May 16, 1939, in McAllen, Texas, to Clayburn and Thalia Norris. After graduating from high school in 1957, Diane earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Southwestern University in Georgetown (1961), a master’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio (1972), and a Doctorate in education from Nova University (1993). She went on to build a rewarding 43-year career as a teacher and exemplary elementary school principal.

Besides her stellar career as elementary school principal, Diane was the recipient of numerous awards and honors such as the first president of the Texas Science Teachers association, International speaker for the National Science Teachers association, national speaker for the National Wildlife Federation, Humanitarian of the year for the Humane society of Austin, and founding President of Crowe’s Nest Farm life science educational farm and sanctuary in Manor, TX.

Diane’s passion for animals and life science education extended to every school she led as principal. She transformed each campus into a living classroom, profoundly enriching students’ intellectual and emotional growth.

Diane is survived by John Norris (brother), Richard Crowe (son), Connor Crowe (grandson), Kelsey Callahan (granddaughter), Macy Camile (granddaughter), David Williams (son), Christopher Williams (grandson), Nicolas Williams (great grandson), Bryan Williams (grandson), Aaron Williams (great grandson), Natalie Benzick (granddaughter), Emerson Benzick (great granddaughter).

Diane was preceded in death by Randy Crowe (son), Lujane Mallett (sister), Clay and Thalia Norris (parents).

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20th at 2 pm with visiting at 1pm at Providence Jones Funeral Home, 604 State Hwy 95, Elgin, TX 78621.
