With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Richard L. Gonzalez on October 17, 2026. Born on January 11, 1945, Richard lived a life dedicated to his family, his work, and his passions. He retired after a proud 30-year career at IBM, followed by another 14 years of service at Dell.
Richard had an active, vibrant spirit and a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was tending to his yard with his gifted green thumb or staying active at the gym, he embraced life with energy. He fondly remembered the days he used to play on a softball league, always keeping his gear in his trunk, ready for the next game.
He joins in eternal rest his parents, Margaret L. Hernandez and Arnold Gonzalez; his beloved son, Daniel Gonzalez; and his brother, Joaquin Hernandez.
Richard leaves behind a lasting legacy through his family. He is survived by his son, David Gonzalez of Austin; his stepson, Danny Rendon of Round Rock; his grandchildren, Ashley Gonzalez of Houston and Ladis Rendon of Round Rock; his sisters, Gloria Torres and Carolyn Perez of Elgin; and his brothers, Arnold Gonzalez of Buda, Jose Arnold Gonzalez of Bastrop, and Theodore Gonzalez of Bastrop. He will also be fondly remembered and missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
