Barbara Schuler

Barbara or Bobby Anne to her family, was born to John and Mary Burke on September 6, 1935 in Union, New Jersey and was the youngest of six children.

After attending secretarial school, Barbara worked at Phelps Dodge in Rahway, NJ, where she meet her loving husband of 64 years, William E Schuler, Jr. After moving to Elizabethtown, KY with her family in 1974, Barbara continued her career at UARCO/Standard Register as the Executive Secretary for the plant manager for an additional 25 years. Bill and Barbara retired to The Villages, Florida where she enjoyed golf, bridge and walking in the pool with friends.

Barbaras greatest joys in life were her family and eight grandchildren. She was happily blessed with 2 great grandbabies in the final months of her life. She loved supporting both her children and grandchildren in all their activities and was their biggest cheerleader. Barbara was a devout Catholic and was an active member of both St. James in Elizabethtown and St. Timothy in The Villages.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her son, Billy; three brothers, Jackie, Michael and Owen; and her sister, Eileen Blatt.

Those left here to carry on her great legacy are her loving son, John Schuler; grandson, Jacob Schuler; daughter, Susan Henderson (David) and their children, Kaitlyn Prince (Eric), Lauren Read (Brandon), Grant Henderson and great grandchildren Emerson Read and William Prince; daughter in law Vicki Schuler and her children, Alex, Emily, Lyndsay and Tyler; sister, Marguerite Haggerty; and countless dearly loved nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 29th, at 11 AM, at the St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 28th, from 4 PM to 6 PM, at Brown Funeral Home, and 10 AM to 11 AM on Wednesday at the church. Inurnment will take place following the service at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
