Betty Elkins Howell

She was a native of Lee County, Kentucky, a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church in Shepherdsville, and retired from Altel Telephone Company. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star in Shepherdsville and a 40 year member of the Grayson County Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hearld Howell; grandson, Jay Abbott; parents, James Calloway and Allene Cart Elkins; brother, Billy B. Elkins; and sister, Dorene E. Lee.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Bobby (Virginia) Elkins and James (Laura) Elkins all of Shepherdsville; two grandchildren, Todd Abbott of Elizabethtown and Charles (Sherry) Smith of Minot, North Dakota; three great grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Tristian Smith, and Audrey Abbott; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. John Lentz officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park.

Visitation will be begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
