

A native of Portland, Tennessee, Bonnie lived a life marked by service, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a proud member of Main Post Chapel and DAV Chapter #156, dedicating countless hours to supporting her community and fellow military families.
Bonnie faithfully stood beside her husband, Russell Henry Howell, for 58 years as he served in the United States Military. Throughout those years, she not only supported her husband but also uplifted many others, serving multiple terms as President of the Fort Knox NCO Wives Club and contributing to numerous nonprofit organizations.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Russell Henry Howell; her daughter, Brenda Kay Burns; her parents, Earl and Emily Louise Groves; her brothers, Robert Earl Groves of Conyers, Georgia, Carl Groves of Portland, Tennessee, and Donnie Groves of Orlinda, Tennessee; and her sister, Ethel Campbell of Portland, Tennessee.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Glen D. Howell (Pam) of Fairfield, Ohio; her sisters, Mary Groves of Portland, Tennessee, and Susie Halliburton of Gallatin, Tennessee; her six grandchildren, Tara Still (Joey), Jackie Burns, Athena Cruz (Benjamin), Justin Howell (Nancy), Alisha Willford (Clark), and Collin Howell; and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom were a constant source of joy and pride in her life.
Bonnie will be remembered for her strength, her servant’s heart, and her deep love for her family. Her legacy of faith, dedication, and compassion will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, with visitation from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, all at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at 2:30 PM.
