Byron Ball, age 70, of Hodgenville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at his home.

Born in Henderson, Kentucky, Byron was the son of Shirley Ball and the late Hoyt Lee Ball Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a faithful church member whose faith guided him throughout his life. A highly skilled master carpenter, Byron dedicated many years to his craft, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him and the appreciation of those who benefited from his talent and workmanship.

Above all, Byron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He cherished his family and took great pride in the generations that followed him.

Byron is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon Ball; sons, Scott (Crystal) Ball and Matt (Jenni) Ball; his mother, Shirley Ball; his brother, Hoyt Lee Ball, Jr.; his sister, Donna Sheryl Monroe; seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends and fellow church members who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hoyt Lee Ball Sr.

Byron will be remembered for his strong faith, service to his country, exceptional craftsmanship, and his unwavering love for his family. His gentle spirit, hard work, and dedication to others leave a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who love him.

The funeral service begins at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

Visitation begins at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and continues until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help cover Byron’s funeral expenses.
