She was preceded in death by her father, James Willard Hinton (Bill), and her brother, Charles Hinton (Chuck).
Catherine dedicated more than 30 years of service to Superior Essex, formerly Alcatel Telecommunications. She also served for many years as secretary of the IUE union, where she was respected for her commitment and leadership.
A loving and devoted mother and a proud, doting grandmother, Cathy found her greatest joy in time spent with her family. She had a passion for travel, whether enjoying weekend getaways or longer adventures. She especially loved trips to the beach and the Smoky Mountains, particularly when shared with Miranda, Jayme, and her grandchildren.
Cathy enjoyed a peaceful life with her husband, Charlie, where they found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—watching hummingbirds at her feeders, seeing sandhill cranes land in nearby fields, and observing deer and turkey in the surrounding countryside.
A true animal lover, Cathy adored her little dog, Otto, and often shared fond stories of her beloved pets, especially a dog named Lightfoot.
Cathy lived life with curiosity and joy, always open to trying new things. She will be remembered as an exceptional listener, a warm and friendly presence, and someone who made friends easily. Her bright smile, kind heart, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving spirit.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Valley Creek Baptist Church, 4685 Springfield Road, Elizabethtown, KY 42701. Visitation will be held at 11:00 am followed by a service at 12:00 pm.
