

Clyde L. Austin, 95, of Vine Grove, KY passed away January 8, 2025 at home in Elizabethtown. Our dad loved his family and was devoted to the four women that ruled his life. Wife of 63 years, Eva Austin; daughters, Marion Galvin (Don), Brenda Webster, and Sonja Hunter at his side.
Dad played basketball and football at Spring Hill High School, Longview Texas graduating Valedictorian 1946. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, traveling, and eating chocolate cake.
He was dedicated to his country serving 22 years between being in the Navy, Marines, and Army. He was in Berlin during the Crisis, served in Korea and Vietnam, and enjoyed many tours of duty in Germany.
Preceded in death by his parents, John F. Austin and Ethel (Madding) Austin; sisters, Louise, Louvella, Oleda, Betty; and brother, Johnny.
He is survived by his sister, Juanita Stevens of Utah; grandchildren, Jennifer Fulford (Don), Andrew Galvin, Eric Webster, and Kindel Bohannan. Dad enjoyed his great-grandchildren, Leighton, Liam, Austin, and Carley
Heartfelt appreciation to our awesome VA and Hospice caregivers. Dad’s personal caregivers were wonderful and that meant so much to us. Thank you all.
We will honor him with a private Graveside Service at Hardin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made out to Hospice.
