Conrad "Pete" Peeters, of Hodgenville, Kentucky, passed away on November 11, 2025. Born in Albany, New York, Pete spent his life working hard, loving big, and making sure everything-and everyone-around him was taken care of.
Pete proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he found his calling on the open road and worked as a truck driver for 45 years. He loved his work, his rottweilers, his cars, and tending to his yard, always keeping his home "looking sharp." Pete was the life of the party, known for his storytelling, his sense of humor, and a vocabulary all his own. A cold beer in hand and a good story to tell-that was Pete at his best.
He is survived by his three sons, Joey Peeters (fiancé Beth), Parker Tanner (wife Sarah), and Dakota Cowan; his grandchildren, Brooklyn Tanner, Ayden Tanner, and Astrid Cowan; his loyal best friend, his dog Rum; and two close relatives who held a special place in his life, Stephanie Skaggs and Wendy Ballah. He is also survived by his sisters in Vermont, Susan Covey and Theresa “Cookie” Parizo.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katarina Peeters; his wife, Melanie Peeters; his sister, Cathy Garvey; his brothers, Jerry Peeters and Dickie Peeters; and his parents, Elizabeth and Gerard Peeters.
Pete touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, Kentucky from 10am - 2pm eastern time.
