Donna was born on December 21, 1954 to James and Idell Sego.
A graduate of East Hardin High School and Western Kentucky University, Donna spent many years as a minister of music in various churches, often serving alongside her husband, the Rev. Michael Rodgers. She was an avid pianist and painter, and always had a stack of books crowding her bedside table.
She was a loving wife, a compassionate mother, a gentle and patient friend, and always ready to welcome her grandchildren as they came running into her arms on the porch of her Glendale home.
Donna was energized by helping others through their struggles. She had a beautiful way of making a friend feel safe enough to take on the burdens of life together. Even right to the end of her own struggles, she used the brief time she had left to console and uplift her loved ones. If you were there with her, and you needed it, she always had it in her to give.
She is survived by her parents, James and Idell Sego, her loving husband of 47 years, Rev. Michael Rodgers; her sisters Rhonda Moore (Jim) and Kimberly Becker (Jim); her three children and their spouses, Emily Lee (Christopher), Jordan Rodgers (Samantha Smith), and Megan Rodgers (Kimberly Gibson); and her 6 grandchildren, Jonathan, Ellie, Simone, Sylvie, Vita, and Micah.
A gathering of celebration will be held at Gilead Baptist Church in Glendale, Kentucky on Friday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m.
A visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on Thursday, March 6 from 4:00-8:00 p.m., and another in advance of the celebration service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Gilead Baptist Church.
Burial will be at the Glendale Christian Church cemetery.
