

He died at home surrounded by his family. Donnie is survived by his wife of 64 years, his lovely Anna, two daughters Deborah Gosser of Sarasota, Florida and Anita (Michael) Gosser Hall of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. In addition, Donnie was a loving Papa to three wonderful grandsons, Logan Hall of Sarasota, Florida, Sean Hall of Elizabethtown Kentucky, and Drew Hall of Cincinnati, Ohio. Donnie has one surviving sister Ruth (Bruce) Ipe of Wilton Connecticut and one surviving sister-in-law Mary Gosser from Russell Springs. Donnie was preceded in death by his loving parents Oscar and Patrae Gosser of Russell Springs, Kentucky.
Donnie was born in Russell Springs, Kentucky and went on to graduate from the University of Kentucky in 1960. He was a successful businessman and owned several businesses including Hub City Wholesale Electric which he operated for 25 years before selling it. Donnie was honored with the Small Business Person of the Year by the Elizabethtown Chamber in 1991. Donnie was a member of the Lions Club, was on the Industrial Board in Elizabethtown, and served on several local non-profit boards throughout his lifetime. He also served on several state boards including KEMI.
Donnie loved the LORD, his family and his friends with great joy. He believed that any blessing which the LORD provided him should be poured back through a life of service to others. Donnie loved serving through his church Severns Valley Baptist, where he and his wife were members since 1965. He has gone on many mission trips including several countries in South America with Baptist Builders and many communities throughout the states. His most favorite service mission which he dedicated several decades of his life to, was Campbellsville University. Donnie served on the Board of Trustees at CU and was an integral part of the development of the growth of their campus specifically the Gosser Fine Arts Center and the Gosser Gymnasium. Donnie received his honorary doctorate from Campbellsville University in 2015.
Donnie also had great joy raising, riding, training and showing horses, pheasant hunting and golfing. So many wonderful friendships were developed through these hobbies. Donnie will be remembered by his family and his friends as a Christian man who was always willing to give of his time, his treasure, and his talents to those in need and was a wonderful example of a life dedicated to service to others.
Visitation will be at Brown Funeral home Thursday, August 1st from 5 to 8pm and continues Friday August 2nd at 10 am then followed by the funeral at 11am. There will be a small graveside ceremony afterwards for family. In lieu of flowers remembrance donations can be made to Campbellsville University, Clarity Solutions of Elizabethtown or any charity of your choice.
