

She was born on November 20, 1934 in Marion County, Kentucky to the late Homer Lee and Elizabeth Sapp Wright.
She was a faithful member of First Christian Church for over 60 years where she was a member of the Upper Room Sunday school class. In her younger years, Duerella taught children’s Sunday school and vacation bible school. She always enjoyed Monday night Ladies Bible study groups.
Duerella was a stay-at-home mother, and she always made sure her children were well loved and taken care of. Some of her hobbies included reading and playing the piano.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 72 years, Edward Barlow; two brothers, Willis and Melvin Wright; three sisters, Marceline Ford, Edith Wright, and Margaret Mertz.
Survivors include her son, Steven Barlow; two daughters, Bobbie (Louis) Bauer and Sherry (David) Cofer; eight grandchildren, Christina Wirth, Celeste Reynolds, Aaron and Stuart Bauer, Scott Barlow, Kaitlin and Jordan Cofer, and Addison Futrell; and 12 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor’s Chris Kiger and Doug Mitchell officiating.
Burial follows in Hardin Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 13th from 2 to 6 p.m. and continue after 12 p.m. Noon on Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Christian Church or Hosparus Health of Central Kentucky.
