Elizabeth Imogene (Hunt) Litsey

She was born on March 3, 1932, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, to the late John T. and Nellie Lewis. Imogene lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. She was a woman whose gentle spirit, steadfast devotion, and quiet strength touched all who knew her.

Imogene graduated from high school and immediately began working on the farm and building a life as a homemaker. From an early age, she embraced responsibility with grace and determination. Farming, gardening, and raising her cows were not simply tasks to her, but a way of life that reflected her deep appreciation for the outdoors and the blessings of honest work. She found joy in the simple, faithful rhythms of each day and carried that same spirit into every season of her life.

A devoted Christian, Imogene lived her faith openly and sincerely. She was a member of Cecilia Methodist Church and WJCR Christian radio station and remained steadfast in her love for the Lord throughout her life. Her faith was the foundation of her character and the source of her compassion, patience, and kindness she extended to others. She was also known for volunteering at her church and food pantry, where she served with a humble heart and a willing spirit. Her life was a testimony to service, and she gave of herself freely and faithfully.

Imogene was preceded in death by the father of her children, V. C. Hunt, and by her late husband, Harold Litsey. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Troy Vaughn, a granddaughter, Chelsey Mink, brothers, Joseph R. Lewis, Harold Lewis and his wife Aline, and Terrell Lewis and his wife Mabel. Though she experienced loss, she remained a source of strength and love for her family, and her memory will continue to be cherished by those who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her children, Michael Hunt and his wife Connie, Pam Vaughn and her husband Jr., Mark Hunt and his wife Gail, Mitch Hunt and his wife Leitha, and Patsy Mink and her husband Roger. Imogene also leaves behind many grandchildren; Michael, Brandon, Bobby, Brooke, Elisha, Todd, Bryan, Jacob, Jessica, Blake, Ashley, Andrew, Austin, Bradley, Colby, Holly, Rachel, and Ike. Along with great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and extended family and friends, who will carry forward her legacy of love, faith, and family. She was deeply proud of her family, and her heart was fullest when surrounded by those she loved. Her presence was comforting, her words were a blessing, and her example will remain a guiding light to generations to come.

Her family would also like to express their gratitude to her loving caregivers, Jessica Helm, Elaine Hollie, Linda Jorgenson and Vickie Corbin.

Imogene will be remembered as loving, faith-filled, and selfless. She lived with a quiet dignity and a generous heart, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her life reflected the values she held dear, and her memory will live on in the lives she touched through her devotion to family, her service to her church, and her unwavering Christian faith.

Though she has departed this earthly life, Imogene's legacy remains in the love she gave, the faith she shared, and the many lives she enriched along the way. Her family and friends will forever treasure the memories of her warmth, her strength, and her enduring devotion.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Warren Traylor and Bro. Don Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
