She was a native of Grayson County.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, James Blane Thompson; her parents, Filda and Linnie Powell; two grandchildren, Mathew V. Howze and Benjamin R. Cecil and two brothers, Adrian Powell and Donald Powell.
Survivors include two step children, David Cecil and Gina Ann Melvin; two brothers, Marvin Powell and Waymon Powell; two grandchildren, Ashley M. Cecil and Blaine L. Howze and a great-granddaughter, Ellie Kendall McKissack.
A Graveside service will be Wednesday at 12 p.m. EST at Thompson Cemetery in Greensburg.
