Helen M. Hill Newport

She was a native of Nelson County and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She loved being surrounded by children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Leo Newport; a son, Daniel Andrew Newport; a daughter, Brenda G. Newport; parents, Joseph and Zita Hill; siblings, Emanuel Hill, Bertha Stone, Theresa Bucci, J.C. Hill, Lawrence Hill, Pem Hill, Donald Hill, and Ernest Hill; granddaughter, Katie; and great granddaughter, Aimee.

She is survived by her son Michael (Frances) Newport of Elizabethtown; five daughters, Deborah Newport of Louisville, Sherry (Terry) Brackett of Louisville, Juanita F. (Fred) Ramsey of Elizabethtown, Carla A. (Roger) Ramsey of Elizabethtown, Bonnie J. (Jim) Spalding of Bardstown; four sisters, Shirley Keeling of Bardstown, Louise Fulkerson of Mt. Washington, Patricia Brown of Jeffersonville, IN, and Marilyn Summitt of Bardstown; twelve grandchildren, Joseph, Amanda, Jeffrey, Donnie, Susan, Timmy, Sharon, Austin, Jonathan, Christopher, Christina, Virgil; and step grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Josh, Jessica, Maria, Roger Jr.

The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continue after 9 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home.

There will be a prayer vigil service at 7 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
