James Lawrence Oliver

He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, was active with the American Legion Post 113, an avid fisherman, hunter, and was a great husband.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Marvin Oliver and Kathryn Mayberry; his daughter, Jill Oliver; and a sister, Jill Oliver.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margie Ree Oliver of Rineyville; his son, Mike (Larissa) Oliver of Shepherdsville; a brother, Jack (Monnie) Oliver of IL; a sister, Judy (Phil) Ray of WI; three grandchildren, John (Maranda) Oliver, Jeffrey Oliver, and Meghan Gregory; and four great- grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, Kaitlyn, and Olivia Oliver.

The funeral is Monday at 12 Noon at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

Burial will follow in Youngers Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. and continues after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
