
Jason Dale Johnson, age 40, passed away unexpectedly at the end of May in his Austin home, leaving behind a heartbroken family and many dear friends. His sudden loss has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Jason was known for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and the way he could light up any room with his presence. He had a special gift for making people feel seen, heard, and appreciated. Outgoing and compassionate, Jason deeply valued his relationships and was always there when someone needed a hand—or a good laugh.
A talented and passionate chef, Jason found true joy in the kitchen. His culinary journey even gave him the opportunity of a lifetime to intern alongside world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay in Colorado—an experience he treasured. Whether preparing meals for family, friends, or customers, Jason poured his heart into every dish he created.
Above all, Jason was a devoted son, father, and brother. He is survived by his loving mother, Karen Johnson of Elizabethtown, KY; his father, Dale Johnson of Kimberling City, MO; his five beloved children; and his two sisters, Allison Brangers(Elizabethtown) and Rebecca Riddle(VA). His love for his family was unwavering, and he will be remembered for his generous spirit and the joy he brought into their lives.
A funeral and memorial service to honor Jason’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home, located at 306 College St., Elizabethtown, KY. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by a burial service at 11:30 AM at Hardin Memorial Park Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
