Jerry Laverne Harrod

Born on December 26, 1947, in Grayson County, Jerry was the son of the late James and Lorraine Harrod. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran and carried his deep love for the Lord throughout his life. Jerry never met a stranger—everyone he encountered became a friend, a testament to his kind heart and warm spirit.

He is survived by his former wife and dear friend, Naomi Harrod; his children, Goldie Marie (Tom ) Smith, Dillard (Brandi) Logsdon, and Chad Harrod (Emily); and his beloved grandchildren, Justin (Tamra) Smith , Santana (Rollin) Brown, Jerren Smith, Dillion Smith (Ryan Lee) and Ryan (Paige) Smith . Jerry was blessed with nine great-grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by all his Bub's Cafe family.

He is also survived by his brothers, James Harrod and Dwight Harrod; and sisters, Marie White, Judy Layman, and Faye Smith. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, John Harrod.

A small service will be held at the Pavilion of Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery Central at 12:30 PM on July 9th, 2025, followed by his inurnment in the cemetery.

Jerry’s legacy is one of love, friendship, and faith.
